The longer I contemplate, the more I think about it. The truth is, in a lot of ways, so many things have changed. But there's something in particular that's been on my mind for a while now. I have an idea of what you're going to say before you even ask me the question: what am I wearing? It's not that it doesn't matter, don't get me wrong. It matters a lot to me - but it doesn't matter like this anymore. This blog post will provide an analysis on the changing role and significance of clothes in society and how they play into self-expression and sexuality (potentially NSFW). Clothing is a crucial part of fashion and fashion is a crucial part of any culture. Women, in particular, use clothing to express their sexual identity and to influence others about their sexual availability. No matter what type of clothing one may be wearing, its function is always to communicate something about the person wearing it. The way someone dresses does not merely reflect who they are but also shapes it. In other words, fashion plays an important role in self-expression and sexuality. Throughout history, clothing has been used by people in different societies to denote class status and wealth. The expensive and luxurious clothing of courtiers were distinguishable from the more modest and plain tunics worn by commoners. Even today, clothing is used to differentiate between society members, such as the different types of uniforms used by members of different services or police forces. The colors of a uniform can also be an important form of self-expression, such as the red color made famous by the suffragettes in favor of women's right to vote. Clothing is an essential part in identity and sexuality because it has been used since antiquity to express who we are and what we want others to think we are like. However, as society has continued to develop and as the role of women in society has evolved, so have the ways in which people express their identities and their sexuality. During the Victorian era, it was important for women do everything possible to conform to a certain standard of beauty in order to attract a suitable husband. It was considered a "sin" for a woman to show any skin from above her ankle or from under her neck. As the trend of mini-skirts began in the 1960s, it became more important for women to wear clothing that reveals more skin. As we have continued to develop and as we have gained more rights and more freedoms, so has it become more important for women to express their sexual identities through clothing.
